Migrating from Alfresco Enterprise to Alfresco Community
Are you looking to move from Alfresco Enterprise Edition (Alfresco content platform), the paid licensed version, to the free open source Alfresco Community Edition? Unless you have a very large installation, with a a need for fail over an load balancing (not available in community edition as standard), the steps are not to complicated.
- Hold off upgrading to latest Alfresco Enterprise. You want to go a step up in version with Alfresco Community.
- Using a database other than PostgreSQL or MySQL? Then you need to convert the database as Oracle and MSSql are not supported in Community edition. This is usually the part with most work.
- Any customizations? Most will work with just some minor modifications, if any, but needs testing.
The above is of course simplified, and it will require lots of planning and testing. We have helped customer with all the above steps, and can do this for you.
